The Herald strives to be the one-stop community for writers on Dreamwidth. Here you will find ads and announcements for writing communities, events, contests, and challenges.
Submission Rules
1) Please only advertise for any particular community of event once per week. You are allowed, for example, to make one post advertising your community at large and another advertising a specific event; however please do not abuse this or the Herald will make angry faces at you.
2) Both original and fanfiction are allowed, as well as RP communities. Most everything is allowed as long as it pertains to writing. If for any reason you are not sure, please send![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
auguris a PM and she'll take a look and let you know.
3) Please utilize the available tags. If you believe we have failed to add a tag that would benefit the general user as well as your current posting, please request the tag in the body of your post. Fanficcers, the Herald apologizes but there will not be fandom-specific tags. There are simply too many fandoms!
4) The Herald would appreciate if your post followed this style:
SUBJECT: Community name (using the DW user tag) event title (if applicable)
BODY: Image (if applicable) (image may not exceed 300 pixels in height and 400 pixels in width. Any larger image must be placed under a cut tag. Failure to do so will result in the post's deletion.)
Explanation/Summary of Community/Event
(optional) Community name (using the DW user tag)
(optional) Tag request
5) All posts MUST be safe for work and the general audience. If your community or event is 18+, please indicate this in your post.
6) Be excellent to each other.
The Herald is also interested in maintaining a list of writing resources available both on and off DW. Said resources are available here. If you would like to add to the list, please leave a comment on that post and the Herald will add your suggestion. If you are suggesting a post on a personal journal that is not your own please ensure that the user will welcome the exposure.
